4 Months and Rice Cereal!

Evan had his 4 month old check-up yesterday! He is growing slowly but surely...he is now 12lbs 15oz (pretty much 13 pounds) and 23 3/4 inches long (pretty much 2 feet tall)!! The nurse said he is on the petite side, but since daddy is 6'2 and mommy is 5'7, hopefully he'll eventually get some height! He got another set of shots and cried just as hard as he did at his 2 month appointment. It was so sad to watch! Here he is with his cool Band Aids...

At 4 months, Evan loves:
  • to grab anything he can
  • to eat his hands and fingers
  • to kick his legs like crazy
  • to scoot himself backwards with his legs while lying on his back
  • to smile at mommy and daddy
  • to talk...A LOT! He loves the sound of his voice!
  • his Tigger
  • the car...he falls asleep EVERY time no matter how short the drive!
  • to watch Nickelodeon and Noggin...especially "Yo Gabba Gabba"
  • to laugh when mommy and daddy make fools of themselves while jumping up and down

And his newest favorite thing is...Rice Cereal!!! We fed it to him last night and he mowed it down!

"Yum...Give me some more, Dad...Hurry up!!!"

Lakers' Number One Fan!!!

Evan's Nana got him the cutest little Laker outfit for Christmas! He sported it last night while watching the Lakers kick some Warrior booty! Here he is...totally into the game...

"Mom...can you get out of the way please??? I can't see the TV!"

Merry Christmas!

Santa came to our Christmas eve party and Evan got to sit on his lap for the first time! He even tried to pull off Santa's beard!! If you look closely at his left hand, you can see the grip!

This was our favorite gift that we got! My brother and sister made a big Laker blanket for us and a smaller one for Evan! I'm sure this will be Evan's favorite blanket since he was born a Laker fan! Now we get to snuggle up and watch the Lakers win the championship! ;-)

This was the only gift we got Evan for Christmas...the Bumbo Seat!!! He's a little small for it now, but I'm sure he'll love it once his neck gets a little stronger!

Evan's photo shoot!!

Last weekend, my dad took a ton of pictures of Evan in his dinosaur jammies. He got some pretty cute ones that I had to post!

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas... WAIT...We don't have to dream!!!

The High Desert usually gets some snow about one time a year. But since I've lived here (over 2 years), I haven't seen any. Last Wednesday, it started snowing about 9AM and didn't stop until early Thursday morning. It was really neat to sit inside and watch our yard fill up with snow! We ended up getting about 7 or 8 inches of fresh powder...it was awesome!

About 11AM...just starting to stick...

Still snowing!

My snow angel in our front yard!

Sean thought I was retarded when I tried to snowboard down our front yard...It didn't work very well, but I had to try! Haha! Come on...it's not every day we get snow like this!

Who needs the GYM???

Tonight, Sean and I discovered a new way to strengthen our shoulder muscles without having to go to the gym!! Evan normally hates "Tummy Time," but he doesn't think it's too bad when he's on his changing table. That changing table really must be magic! He held his head up for a good five minutes straight tonight. I will definitely be repeating this exercise many times in order to strengthen his neck and back! Good job, little guy!

(That red eye makes him look pretty scary! He looks like he belongs in the "Twilight" movie!)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful that I get to be this cute little guy's mommy! Watch out ladies...Future heartbreaker! ;-)

Hmmm...

I think this must run in the family...

The High Desert at its Finest!

I took this picture the other day of the view from our backyard. This is one of the reasons why I love the High Desert. You don't get sunsets like these in Orange County!

I took this one yesterday of the thunderclouds that were rolling in. If you look closely, you can see some snow on Mountain High! YES!!! Snowboarding season is on its way!

Evan's First Vacation!

We got to go camping this last weekend in San Diego for a quick little vacation! We drove over the big bridge into Coronado and stayed at the Silver Strand. It is an awesome campsite right on the beach. Sean's parents were kind enough to let us crash in their RV. We watched the BYU football game, the 49er game, the Laker game, and just hung out and relaxed by the campfire. We also got to have dinner at our favorite mexican/seafood place called Rockin' Baja Lobster! Their lobster tail and shrimp are to die for! It was nice to get away! Here are some pictures of our trip...

Evan also had his 2 month check-up today and got 4 big scary shots! So sad!! He weighed in at 10 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 and a half inches long. He's still a little guy compared to other babies his age (25th percentile), but he's growing so that's good! The nurse said he just gets to be baby longer!

Evan's Blessing

Evan's blessing was yesterday! His dad gave him a beautiful blessing and family and friends came to support us on his special day. His Nana (Sean's mom) got him the cutest little white tuxedo to wear for the special occasion. Evan was very well-behaved during the blessing...he didn't even move or make a sound! It's hard to believe that he is already 6 weeks old!
He was kind of swimming in his newborn-sized outfit, but it was still cute! Thanks, Nana!

Our little family hanging out after the blessing

Evan's First Halloween!

Evan was a bumblebee for Halloween! We found his costume at Target and it was actually supposed to be for a dog! Haha!! It fit him pretty well since he is still so little! We took him Trick-or-Treating and made sure to tell the people that we were going to crush up the candy and put it in his bottle! Hey...Mommy eats the candy first and then Evan drinks Mommy's milk!

Smiling at Mom!

Every time I put Evan on his changing table he likes to smile at me! Maybe it's because he knows I'm going to get all that yucky poop off his bum! ;-) I was able to capture these two pictures of him that I thought were pretty cute!

Happy 25th Birthday, Daddy!

I know I'm kinda late on this post, but Sean's birthday was on October 19th and Evan and I made him a birthday cake to celebrate! He's 25 now! Happy Birthday Daddy! (Evan was mesmerized by the candles...oooohhh!!)

Here are some more pictures that I thought I'd post...What they say is true...You always take a MILLION pictures of your first! Oh well...I guess we'll have that many more memories!!

This is how I found him in his crib...too cute!

A little naptime with daddy!

Hanging out with Aunt Jill

Doing a little "Tummy Time"...he doesn't really like this, but his head is already flat from lying on his back so much! Hope it doesn't stay that way! ;-) (Look at his hairline...just like his Daddy's!)

So peaceful...

Bathtime! He actually kinda likes his baths! (Check out that Buddha belly!)
