Can we say "Lloyd Christmas" from Dumb and Dumber?

Yes...Evan chipped his tooth! We're going to start calling him Lloyd now. How did it happen? We were shopping at Costco and Evan was sitting in the back of the shopping cart. Carson was in his carrier in the front of the cart and was blocking our view of Evan in the back. We figured that Evan must have been sitting on the side of the cart and when Sean took a sharp turn, he fell out! All of the sudden we heard a big thump and Evan had fallen right onto his face. I freaked out and Sean picked him up, but only his lip was bleeding. Evan hardly even cried. We then walked around Costco and he happily ate all the free samples. It wasn't until the way home, as I was looking closer at Evan, that I noticed his tooth. Gotta love boys! I guess we should be grateful that it's his baby tooth! haha! Hey...it adds character! Here he is showing off his new smile...

We love you, Evan...Chipped tooth and all! :)

August at a Glance...

A lot happened in August so I thought I'd do a recap. We went to the beach a few times and this was the ONLY day it was good weather for us. Well...it was good weather for about 3 hours from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and we were grateful! Then the clouds and haze rolled in and it got cold! No problem though...we were able to go to Cafe Rio (our FAVORITE place) a little earlier for dinner!

Evan LOVED the water and playing in the sand with his sand toys! He would wait for the waves to come up to his feet and say "water's coming!!"

Carson just hung out on the blanket and was all smiles...

Evan's new favorite thing to do is pick his nose. He started doing it when we were on vacation and now he does it all the time. Sean and I always pull his finger out when we catch him doing it and tell him it's gross, but he does it anyway. Sick!

We got Evan his very own potty toilet! There is a big jar of Reese's Pieces on the bathroom counter. If he goes pee-pee or poo in his toilet, then he gets a candy! A few weeks ago before his bath, I asked him if he wanted to go potty in his toilet. He sat down and went for the first time! He's actually gone a few times when I put him on it, but I'm not sure if he really knows what he's doing. Oh well, I figure it's good to start getting the potty on his brain early. I'll probably go full force being the potty drill sergeant after he turns 2. Here he is sitting on his potty...

We went to our nephew Mark's wedding. It was at Sean's brother Troy's house and was really nice.

Evan loved all the treats...yum...chocolate covered pretzels!

4 Months Old!

Carson is 4 months old! He had his 4 month check-up and here are his stats:

Weight: 14lbs 6oz...............50th percentile

Height: 24 1/2 inches...........50th percentile

Head Circ: 17 1/2 inches.........95TH PERCENTILE!!!!

Wow...he has a HUGE head!! We like to say he just has a big brain and is going to be really smart. :) He has such a bobble-head that he still can't really hold it up while he's on his tummy. It's just too heavy! He's getting better though because we practice with him every day now.

Since he is now 4 months, we decided to try feeding him oatmeal cereal for the first time. He didn't really like the cereal very much and kept spitting it out. The problem is, he can't really sit up and hold his head up in his bumbo seat to eat. We're going to wait a few weeks and then try it again. We did give him a bottle for the first time last week and he didn't really like it. I pumped and Sean fed it to him. He started drinking it at first, but then he started crying and was being stubborn. We worked with him every day and now he is taking the bottle. We use the "pacifier technique," where we give him his paci first, then pull it out really fast and stick the bottle in. He doesn't even know what happened and drinks the whole 6 ounce bottle! We're glad he is taking the bottle because now I can go back to subbing a few days a week when Sean is off work. Here he is drinking his first bottle with Daddy...

Being silly with Evan...

He loves chomping on his fingers...looks like we may have some teeth coming in soon! :)
