Evan Parker is FINALLY here!!!

Our little guy finally decided to make an early appearance and came into this world on September 22, 2008 at 2:05PM. He weighed in small but healthy at 6 lbs 4 oz and 18 inches long. I guess the fourth time is the charm! :-) Here are some pictures of the big event!

Dilated to a 4...no epidural yet...LOTS OF PAIN already...

Daddy catching some Z's

Now with the epidural...WOW...Labor is a piece of cake!

The most amazing moment ever...they put MY son on my chest!

Sucking his thumb...minutes after birth (I won't post a picture, but right after this, the nurse had me try to breastfeed him...he latched on immediately and nursed for about 30 mins!)

Our happy little family!
Mommy and her little guy!

The proud daddy!

Getting ready to go home from the hospital...he looked so tiny in that thing!

Evan's first car ride! We made it home!

He discovered the pacifier...even though he doesn't really need one! (He hardly ever cries...we are so lucky!)

Evan Parker...3 days old!

I realized he's wearing a hat in all of his pics...he does have hair!

We are so grateful to have a beautiful, healthy baby boy! Many more pictures to come in the near future!!!

Evan's Room!

Here are some pictures of Evan's room. I think we're finally ready for him to come...hopefully no more false alarms! We went to Michaels and got the letters for his name and I saw the cutest little wooden safari animals. We painted the letters, glued on the animals, and hung them up with cute ribbon. Sean helped, but it was my idea! :-) I was kinda proud of myself because I am SO not the crafty type, but I think my little "project" turned out pretty cute!

False Alarm...NUMBER 3!!!

So...Tuesday night I was reading my "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book, trying to cram in any last-minute needed info, when I felt a warm gush of something trickle out of me. (Sorry if that's too graphic!) I ran to the bathroom and found more blood! This is the 3rd time that I've had bleeding during my last trimester and I thought..."Is he really coming this time?" Luckily, Sean called and said he was on him way home from school and I told him that I was bleeding...again. I laid down on the bed and starting feeling contractions that were coming about every 3 minutes. Sean got home and started running around our room grabbing any last minute things I needed for the hospital.

We got to the hospital at about 10:30PM and they checked to see if my water broke...it hadn't. They checked me and found that I was still dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced. They hooked me up to the moniters and I waited. And waited. And waited. The contractions stayed at about the same intensity (they didn't ever really hurt THAT bad), but my stomach felt really crampy. I didn't sleep all night, the bleeding stopped the next day, and they did an ultrasound to see if anything was wrong. The baby looked great and they STILL don't know why I was bleeding. My doctor checked me again and found that I was now dilated to almost a 2 and 50-75% effaced. They sent us home at about 5:30PM on Wednesday and said to come back if I started bleeding again. Let's just pray that next time, my water breaks or I start having contractions that REALLY HURT! Here are some pictures from our stay at the hospital...

Here is the baby heart rate/contraction moniter. The top squiggly lines are the baby's heart rate. The bottom humps are my contractions. There was a girl a few beds over that was SCREAMING "Ouweee" during her contractions. I had Sean go spy on her moniter to see what hers were...her contractions were almost to 100. Mine only got to 50 and didn't hurt that bad. That girl ended up delivering her baby about 3 hours later.

36 Weeks! I made it!

And the belly continues to get bigger...

Well, I'm officially 36 weeks prego and Evan is still inside cooking! I took my last contraction pill on Tuesday night and I haven't had any pains yet. At my last doctor appointment, we found out that I was 50% effaced and dilated to a 1. The baby is still really low...the nurse checked me and she said, "I just felt his head!" That is so weird that she actually touched our little guy's head! haha! The doctor said that we are OK to have him anytime...whenever he wants to come out and see us! Now that he's already tried to come out twice and knowing how stubborn he is, Evan will probably wait until I'm 41 weeks to make his debut! It's crazy to think that I'm going to be a mom anytime now...I don't know if I'm ready yet! Oh well...I guess I'm going to have to be! :-)

I got my hair done yesterday...I went more blonde (I figured since I had 2 1/2 inch roots, it was about time)...and my baby shower was last night! We got a ton of great gifts including his bedding, a swing, hand-made blankets, diapers and much, much more! Thanks to all those who came and spoiled us!

Now it's just a waiting game...I can't wait to meet our little guy!!! I'll be sure to keep everyone posted!
