Nate and Rachel's Wedding!

My cousin Rachel got married about a month ago on June 6th! They were married in the Newport Beach temple with a reception in Brea and it was such a beautiful wedding! My dad just sent me the pictures that he took so I thought it would be better to post them later rather than never!

Father's Day and the Beach!!!

Our Primary had an activity last week and I went to help out my friend who is the 2nd counselor. The kids decorated ties for their dads and there were extras so Evan and I got to make one! This was Sean's first Father's Day and we were excited to give him his cool tie to wear to church! It was fun to see all the dads wearing the ties that their kids had made for them. Such a cute idea! Here is Evan with Daddy wearing his tie...

We went to Huntington Beach yesterday and it was such a beautiful day! We actually took Evan down to the water for the first time. Sean, my sister Jill, and I went in, but it was a little too cold for Evan. Hopefully it will warm up soon so we can play in the water with him!

"Uhhhhh...mommy...what are we doing?"

"I'm not so sure about this..."

Here is Aunt Jill playing with Evan. This is the hardest we've ever heard him laugh! He was cracking up at her!

Lately, Evan has been making this really weird-looking face. We call it his "Ugly Face" and he does it ALL the time!!! It looks like his nose is itching and he doesn't know how to scratch it! Here are a couple shots...I'm sure there will be plenty more to come since we always see him making it...

What a little goofball!

Mini-Vacation!

This past weekend we went on a mini-vacation to Northern California for Sean's sister Sharee's graduation. She graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Liberal Studies. We are so proud of her for going back to finish school while being a full time mom to 4 kids. What an accomplishment! Congratulations, Sharee!

The graduate and her family!

Later that night, we went to a nice seafood dinner on the river. We rode in Eric and Sharee's boat to get there and it was so fun! Here we are on the ride over...

The next day was Sean's mom's 60th birthday and we celebrated with chinese food, cake, ice cream, and of course the Laker game. It was a great night...the Lakers became CHAMPIONS!!! They took the Orlando Magic in 5 and we were so excited for their victory! After the game, we presented Sean's mom with a scrapbook full of pictures and letters from all her kids and grandkids. The grandkids performed a skit and we performed our song that we stayed up til 4am writing! Happy 60th Birthday, Liane!

Evan was surprisingly really good in the car during the 7 hour plus drive. We actually got smart on the drive home and stopped at Walmart to buy him a DVD with a collection of his favorite TV shows. He loved it and now we know how to travel right! Here he is enjoying one of his favorites...Blue's Clues!

We had a great time and can't wait for July when Sean has the whole month off! Hooray for vacations!

Evan stands up!

We put Evan to bed tonight and when we walked back in to check on him, he looked like this!

Of course, I had to have him do it again while I caught it on video...

The other morning, I found him sleeping like this. He loves to sleep on his tummy now!

Here are some pictures of Evan at our most recent trip to Disneyland. His uncle Tyler bought him a really cute Pirates of the Caribbean sweat outfit because it was too cold for the shorts and T-shirt that we had him in. Thanks, Uncle Tyler!

8 Months!

Evan is 8 months old today! He is growing up so fast! I can't leave the room anymore because he will scoot his way to everything I don't want him to touch...the blinds, the cords, the CD's, and the kitchen trashcan! My days of watching an easy baby are over! Now I have a crazy little boy that gets into everything! At 8 months, Evan:

  • stomach-scoots all over the house
  • loves to watch TV (his favorite channel is still Noggin 301...He turns his head immediately when we turn it on)
  • drinks formula! No more nursing!
  • still says momma all the time (because she's his favorite), but is starting to say dadda! (Daddy is so proud!)
  • Is almost too big for 9 month clothes (Yeah! He's growing!)

We call this the "fish kick"...he does it sometimes in between scoots when he gets really excited. He puts his arms out in front and kicks his legs like he's swimming!

Who needs toys when you can get to mommy's sandals?

Mommy's life-saver! I put him in this in front of the TV so I can actually get things done!

We Love the Beach!

We took Evan to Huntington Beach for the first time on Monday! We went with my brother Tyler, my cousin Rachel and her fiance Nate. Besides some late afternoon wind, the weather was perfect!! It was 75 degrees and the water was warm enough that all of us jumped in! Sean and I hadn't been to the beach since I was like 6 months pregnant! I missed it and it made me miss the days when I lived practically on the beach! (Good old River Ave in Newport and 17th street in Huntington!) I realized afterward that I'm a bad mom...we didn't even let Evan play in the sand or take him down to feel the water! Oh well...that just gives us an excuse to go back SOON!! I only got pictures of Evan (surprise surprise!) along with my brother Tyler's lovely foot in the background...

He looks so old here! My baby is turning into a little boy!

Evan's new mode of transportation...

The Stomach Scoot!

He started doing this today. Now I have to check the premises before I put him down on the ground. He now stomach scoots his way to anything he wants to grab. This includes remote controls, my phone charger cord, the blinds that he loves to pull and suck on, the DVD player and any CD's he can chew on, and of course, my sandal (caught him sucking on the bottom of it today...SICK!) There's no point to laying him on blanket...he's off of it in a matter of seconds! We love our little inch-worm!

It's official! After almost 8 months, I've stopped nursing. Well...pretty much. I cheated today and breastfed him this morning because I was so engorged. Man...it hurts SO bad!! Hopefully I will dry up soon! Evan is doing really well and taking the bottle with formula. He doesn't drink 24-32 ounces like he's supposed to, but hopefully he will soon. He's got some chunk on him so I'm think he's OK. Any advice on the drying up part would be appreciated...Thanks!

Evan's first swim and my new hair!

Today we took Evan for his first swim! We've been going to Sean's brother Jason's house to lay out the last couple days and it has been so nice! The other day, the pool was 73 degrees so Jason decided to heat it up a little. Well...he ended up forgetting to turn off the heater and the pool was 86 degrees today! It felt like a bath! (Almost too hot! I like to jump into a pool and be refreshed!) Evan loved it! Can't wait to go swimming tons this summer!

I'm really bad at keeping up on my hair, but I decided to go back to blonde for the summer (you can't really tell in the picture). I got some short layers and a little bit of bangs to change things up a bit. My hair is so thick so it was nice to chop off some of the bulk! Thanks to my wonderful hairstylist Meagan!

Free Graco High Chair!!!

My friend Megan called me up the other day and said "You better get over here and pick up your brand new, in-the-box, FREE high chair!" I asked her what she was talking about. It turns out, her neighbor works for Graco and she brought over a bunch of free stuff that was being discontinued. Megan already has a high chair so she thought we could use it...We are so excited! We've been feeding Evan in the Bumbo and he kicks off the tray and practically falls backwards out of the thing every time! I was actually looking to buy the same style of high chair the day before she called and told me! This one is so nice because it folds down so you can store it next to the fridge. They cost $99 bucks...you definitely can't beat FREE!!!

Showing off his new teeth in his new high chair!

"I love my new high chair mommy!"

It's plain to see who his favorite is...

Easter Photoshoot...Finally!

7 months!

Evan turned 7 months last week and can now stay sitting up on his own! He loves to travel around the room, whether it be rolling from place to place, or scooting backwards. I left the room the other day and walked back in, only to find him missing. I frantically looked around the room before I noticed him hiding under his swing! He started out on the blue blanket by the TV and somehow got here!

One of his favorite daily activities is watching channel 301 Noggin. Whenever we turn to this channel, he'll immediately turn his head to watch with a huge smile on his face! It's nice because I can keep him occupied while I get things done around the house. Here he is watching one of his favorite shows...Blue's Clues!

He loves to do pushups!

He finally got sick for the first time...we can't believe it took 7 months for him to catch his first cold! He woke up last night coughing and really congested! He was crying in his crib and saying "Momma Momma" over and over! (He only says that when he's mad!) I felt so sorry for him! Poor little guy!

All I want for Easter...

Is my TWO FRONT TEETH!!!

They've arrived!!! Evan's first tooth popped up last week during our vacation to Yosemite and the second one popped up the next day! I think the exact day was April 7th...he was 6 1/2 months old. I think they've been hurting him because he has been waking up many times during the night crying...luckily we just give him his paci and he goes back to sleep. Tylenol has helped too...Poor guy! He's been biting and chomping on everything. Now Mommy's getting a bit nervous about breastfeeding...it might be time for the bottle. I've heard about painful horror stories...just hope I won't have one to tell! ;-)
