Yosemite!

Last week we went camping in Yosemite! Sean was able to get a week off of work for a well-needed vacation. Sean's parent's were kind enough to let us camp with them in their motorhome. Sean had been before, but it was mine and Evan's first time and we all had a blast! Unfortunately the huge rainstorm that swept through the west decided to come the same week, but we were still able to see the majestic sights in between rain showers and clouds!

Half-Dome

Upper and Lower Falls

At the base of Lower Falls...it was really cold!

The famous Yosemite picture!

Beautiful scenery!

On a little hike towards Half-Dome...it was only 0.8 miles but straight uphill and such a great workout! Poor Sean had to carry Evan!

We saw the cutest little hat for Evan...We had to take a picture!

Fun with Daddy!

Hangin with Mommy in Nana and Papa's motorhome!

Bathtime! We gave Evan a bath in Nana's sink in the motorhome. It was the perfect size!

All clean!!!

On one of the days when it was really rainy, we went to a huge cave nearby called Moaning Cavern. It is the largest single cave on the west coast, tall and spacious enough inside to hold the Statue of Liberty! It is also an archaeological sight, where some of the oldest human remains known in America were discovered. The cave has long been the resting spot of the bodies of prehistoric people who fell into its opening. The bones were preserved by the mineral-rich water in the cave. Here is a picture of the inside of the cave that I got off of the internet (mine didn't turn out very well...)

We had to walk down 234 stairs to a depth of 165 feet below the ground! It was a really tight squeeze between rocks in the beginning!

Our whole group inside the cave

I guess Evan got a little bored...he fell asleep on our way out!

Hanging out by the campfire! Luckily, we were still able to have a couple campfires in between the rain!

I had to post this...Nice middle finger, Evan! Haha!

Yeay for vacations! I can't wait to go back and actually hike Half-Dome! That'll be next time!

Our Little Roly-Poly!

Our little guy isn't a lazy bum anymore! Today he rolled from his back to his tummy right before mommy's eyes! He's been rolling over from his tummy to his back for awhile now, but once he got on his back, he would just lay there and be happy. I'm glad that he's actually trying to move around now...except I can't leave him on raised surfaces anymore...he might roll off!!!

6 Month Check-up!

Yesterday, Evan had his 6 month check-up! I had taken him to his last 2 appointments by myself and watched him scream bloody murder! It was so sad! I told Sean that I wanted him to come to this appointment so Evan wouldn't hate only mommy for making him suffer. He got 3 shots and didn't cry nearly as much as the first two times! I guess he was trying to show daddy how tough he can really be! We were excited because the doctor said he was growing like a weed! His stats were as follows:

Weight: 15lbs 7oz...........................25%
Height: 25 1/2 in............................25%
Head Circ: 16 1/2 in.......................10%

He moved up into the 25th percentile! I guess he has a little head...He must take after his mommy because his daddy has a big head! Haha! We love our little (or should I say big) guy!

All Three of Us!

I was excited to get a couple family pictures of all three of us together! Most of the pictures we have are of Sean and Evan or me and Evan or just Evan by himself. I'm always trying to get some good pictures of our family and I thought these turned out pretty cute!

6 Months!

Evan is 6 months! We are so blessed to have such a calm and happy baby! He makes me want to have a ton of kids...if only all of them would be as easy as him!! His doctor's appointment is a week from today and I'm curious to know his stats!

At 6 months, Evan:

  • loves his baby food! There isn't one thing he's tried that he hasn't liked...even prunes!
  • rolls over immediately onto his back when put on his tummy...I guess he was traumatized by "Tummy Time"!! haha!
  • hasn't rolled from back to tummy yet...he's still just a lazy little guy!
  • likes to scoot while lying on his back!
  • loves to chew on his fingers and drool...we keep checking for those little teeth to pop up!
  • loves to grab the food on mommy's plate...I can't eat while I'm holding him!
  • is still nursing...he doesn't have any teeth yet so I'm safe for now! I'm going to be sad when we switch him to formula!
  • still loves to be swaddled at night, believe it or not! Sean thinks he's too big to be swaddled, but if we don't, he wakes up crying!
  • has a man-crush on his daddy! Every time he sees Sean, he gets a huge smile on his face!

Rascal Flatts Concert!!!

For Christmas, Sean surprised me with tickets to the Rascal Flatts concert! I have seen them once before and had told Sean that it was the best concert I had been to. It was last Saturday at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. Our friends Amy and Rob decided to get tickets and go with us last minute and we are so glad they did! Jessica Simpson opened for Rascal Flatts and she wasn't bad...I'm sure the guys loved being able to see her! haha! We had such a great time! My parents were kind enough to watch Evan while we went! Here are some of our pictures taken from the lawn...

Performing "Life is a Highway"...there were awesome special effects!

Random pictures of fun!

We took Evan in the spa for the first time a couple weeks ago and he loved it! Don't worry, we took him in while it was warming up and took him out before it got too hot! (We had to make sure the picture was G-rated! ;-)

Yikes...he looks like Chucky in this picture!

We finally sold our Shih tzu Yoshi to a really nice family who will take good care of him. It was really sad...he was living in our backyard and has been neglected since Evan was born! The awesome part was I posted a free ad in the online Pennysaver and the family bought him for $250 bucks! We can't complain, we only paid $75 for him when we rescued him from the pound! We'll miss you, Yoshi! Good luck with your new family!

After we sold Yoshi, we went out for a delicious dinner at Roadhouse Grill...and Yoshi paid! haha! Here's a picture of Evan eating Peas at the restaurant...check out that mouth...wide open and wanting more!!

Here's Evan nice and clean after his bath...he looked like a cute little Egyptian Pharoah...I had to take a picture!

Recently, we've been having beautiful weather! As long as it's not too windy, Evan and I have been going on some walks. He loves riding in his stroller and checking out the world! It was really bright out the other day, so I put his cool shades on! He actually kept them on the entire ride!

We went to visit my family and got to go to El Taco...our favorite fast-food Mexican restaurant in Downey. It was SOOOO good! I'd been craving it for so long! Here we are pigging out!

5 Months!

I can't believe Evan is 5 months old already! Wow...time really does fly by! At 5 months, Evan still loves:

  • his cereal
  • PEAS (believe it or not!!!) Aren't babies supposed to think peas are yucky? He eats other vegetables, just not as well as peas
  • to eat his hands/fingers
  • to spit on mom while eating baby food
  • to be lazy on his back...no rolling over onto his tummy yet
  • to talk during church when it's quiet
  • and he's starting to fit into 6 month clothes! yeay!!! he's growing!

We went to my parents house the other night and my dad took a ton of pictures. Here are a few of the good ones!

Evan with Aunt Jill (my little sister)

Evan with Uncle Tyler (my little brother)

Aunt Jill, Evan, and my cousin Rebekah

"Mom, these girls are crazy!"

Standing up like a big boy with Aunt Jill

Disneyland!

Sean had the day off work on Monday so we were able to go to Disneyland! Daddy styled Evan's hair for the day with some gel and he looked like a little man! Here is a picture of his new do!

Evan wasn't too excited to be at Disneyland at first...Taking a power nap, I guess...

The famous "Bug's Life" picture...

Getting ready to go on the new Toy Story ride...that is a really cool ride, BTW...

We took Evan on "Small World" and he loved it!

He was fascinated with all the little dolls and colors!

We even got to take a picture with Mickey Mouse!

We can't wait to go back again!

Going to Church!!!

"Let's go to church, Mommy...I'm ready!!!"

Laker Game!

Two weeks ago, we decided it was time to take the Laker's #1 fan to his very first Laker game! We went with Sean's brother Jason and his son Keenan for Keenan's 11th birthday. It was an awesome game...the Lakers played the Oklahoma City Thunder and kicked their butts! We had great seats in the PR section...they were padded and weren't all cramped up like the nosebleed section. There was even a waitress who came to take our food order! We all had a great time!

Picture taken from our seats

Evan loved to watch the game!
